No! There is no need to wash your coffee tamper in the dishwasher. The high heat and water pressure can damage the wood of your handle and reduce the beauty and longevity of your tamper. If you need to wipe something off a damp cloth will do the trick!
It typically takes 2 weeks from start to finish, including shipping time. If you're having a tamper emergency get in touch with us and we will see if we can get it to you faster!
This question is a little trickier. Unfortunately we are unable to accurately recommend base sizes for your basket. You can visit an online coffee forum such as www.coffeegeek.com or alternatively you can measure your basket with callipers to figure out what size base matches. **Please note: Rulers are not accurate.
These base shapes were all carefully invented to give baristas the freedom of choice when selecting a tamper. Here's a quick overview of each: The C-flat has a Euro Curve around the edge and is flat in the centre. It creates a seal around the edge of the puck to prevent channeling. The C-Ripple has the same qualities as the C-flat and one extra, in theory; the ripple effect creates more surface area for the water to pass through the coffee. The C-Ripple was used by the World barista Champion of 2009. The purpose of the Euro Curve was also to seal the edges. Sammy Piccolo's favourite. The American Curve has a very slight curve barely noticeable to the naked eye. Reg was inspired by David Schomer.
Delron is a high impact plastic used for baristas that "knock" or "tap" the porta-filter. It helps protect the wood or the aluminum on the tamper. It comes in Black or White and can be custom engraved if requested. It is available for most wood handles and most anodized handles.
If you are mailing your basket domestically (within Canada) then please include your phone number, email address, and mailing address as well as what you would like to order on a small piece of paper included in the parcel. If you are mailing outside of Canada please follow the same steps as above but also be sure to mark "Return to Manufacturer" on the parcel as well as fill out any necessary paperwork to avoid duties.
Reg loves working with Baristas. Email us your idea and we can tell you if it can be done!
Base shape is 100% personal preference. Although Reg will always recommend the C-Ripple or the C-Flat.
Yes, we are a Canadian company and all orders are processed in Canadian dollars. No need to worry though, your credit card provider will make the currency conversion for you.
We are a small family business and we custom make each tamper on order. As a result, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
We are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm PST. Occasionally Reg can be found here on weekends making trophies!
The small knock box is 7.5 x 7 x 4.5 inches. The large knock box is 10.75 x 7 x 4.5 inches.
